Hyderabad: BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao has welcomed the Supreme Court verdict cancelling the nominations of two Congress-backed MLCs under the governor’s quota, calling it a major setback for both the BJP and Congress.
Reacting on social media platform X, KTR said the ruling exposed the undemocratic conduct of both parties. He recalled that the BJP, while in power, had blocked the nominations of two BRS-proposed candidates under the same quota. Later, when Congress took office, it nominated two new candidates before the earlier process had concluded, he alleged, mocking democratic norms.

KTR said the Congress and BJP had previously stopped the nominations of BRS-backed candidates Dasoju Sravan and Satyanarayana, who hailed from poor and backward communities. He claimed that the Supreme Court’s ruling once again revealed the “true face” of the two Delhi-based parties.
He praised the judiciary for sending a clear message that undemocratic behaviour and disregard for the Constitution would not be tolerated. “We salute the judiciary for standing firm against those who undermine democratic values,” he said.
