Hyderabad: Kukatpally MLA Madhavaram Krishnarao accused the Congress of deceiving the public with unfulfilled election promises, particularly those related to wedding assistance for girls.
Speaking at the Balanagar tahsildar office after distributing Shaadi Mubarak and Kalyana Lakshmi cheques to 56 beneficiaries, the MLA questioned the status of the Congress pledge to provide ₹1 lakh and one tola gold for daughters’ weddings.
He pointed out that under the previous BRS government, former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao had sanctioned ₹1.16 lakh for marriages of girls from economically weaker backgrounds.
Corporators Muddam Narasimha Yadav (Bowenpally) and Maheshwari Srihari (Begumpet), along with tahsildar Srinivasa Rao, were present at the event.
