Hyderabad: Officials on Friday released the complete list of survivors in the Kurnool bus fire, which claimed over 20 lives after a private bus collided with a bike near Chinnatekur. The crash left many injured, with several now recovering in hospitals.
Survivors identified and under treatment
Authorities confirmed that 22 passengers survived the accident. Among them, at least nine sustained injuries and are currently receiving treatment at Kurnool Government General Hospital or other nearby facilities. The rest have either been discharged or reached home safely.
Injured survivors include M. Satyanarayana from Khammam, B. Jayasurya from Hyderabad, A. Naveen Kumar from Hayathnagar, and S. Harika from Bengaluru. All four are undergoing treatment at Kurnool GGH. Additionally, N. Ramesh from Nellore suffered minor injuries, while his wife Srilakshmi and their daughters Jaswitha and Abheera remained unharmed.
Several other survivors, such as Ashwin Reddy, Akash, Jayant Kushwal (working in Hyderabad), Pankaj Prajapati, and Gloria Elsa Sam, escaped without injuries. They either stayed safe at the scene or continued their journeys after being cleared.
Officials clarified that Tarun, who had booked a ticket, cancelled it before the trip and was not involved in the incident.
Driver identities and state-wise breakdown
The primary driver, Lakshmaiah from Palnadu district, was operating the bus at the time of the crash. He fled the scene immediately after the accident, prompting a police search. Meanwhile, the co-driver, Sivanarayana from Prakasam district, was taken into custody and is facing interrogation.

Efforts are ongoing to identify the remaining three passengers and verify their state of residence.
