Hyderabad: BJP MP Laxman on Tuesday accused the Revanth Reddy government of stalling the investigation into the Kaleshwaram project by using the commission probe as a pretext for delay. Laxman demanded that the case be handed over to the CBI for an independent and thorough investigation.
Speaking to the media, Laxman alleged large-scale misuse of public funds in the name of Kaleshwaram and challenged the Telangana government to prove its seriousness by involving the central agency. “Our party’s stand on the Kaleshwaram project is very clear,” he said, asserting that the current inquiry was not enough to expose the full extent of irregularities.
He maintained that only the CBI could bring out the truth behind the massive spending and alleged corruption surrounding the state’s ambitious irrigation project.
