Hyderabad: In a sharp political jibe, BJP MP and party leader K. Laxman on Monday referred to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy as a “school dropout” from the ideological framework of the BJP, accusing him of abandoning the nationalistic values once taught at the party’s ideological “school.”
Speaking at the BJP state office, Laxman remarked, “In our school, we instil a sense of duty towards the nation, grounded in nationalist ideals. Revanth lost his way after stepping into another political setup. Had he stayed true to our school, he might have risen to a different level altogether.”
He dismissed the importance of tenure in office, saying, “What matters is not how long you hold power, but how much people appreciate your governance.” Drawing a sharp comparison, Laxman urged the public to weigh 11 years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rule against the 18 months of Revanth Reddy’s administration to see where the Congress-led state government stands.
He further accused the Chief Minister of being fixated on “Rahul Gandhi worship” at the expense of Telangana’s real needs. “While they carry political baggage to Delhi, they haven’t brought back a single rupee in investment for Telangana,” Laxman alleged.
The BJP leader didn’t hold back, charging that corruption had surged under Congress rule and that the Chief Minister had compromised Telangana’s self-respect by mortgaging his position to Rahul Gandhi. “This isn’t leadership—it’s subservience,” he said, adding that people of the state deserved far better governance than what the current regime offered.
