Hyderabad: Chief Justice of India B.R. Gavai on Saturday described the legal profession as one filled with challenges, demanding continuous effort and accountability from practitioners.
Speaking at the 22nd convocation of NALSAR University of Law in Hyderabad’s Shamirpet, the CJI said that law is not just for judges and lawyers but impacts every citizen. Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, Supreme Court Judge P.S. Narasimha, and Telangana High Court Chief Justice Alok Aradhe also attended the event.
Justice Gavai noted a steady increase in students pursuing law, which he welcomed as a sign of growing civic and legal awareness. He also highlighted the importance of understanding emerging fields like artificial intelligence and data privacy, pointing to both opportunities and ethical risks.
Addressing young graduates, he advised them to approach their profession with responsibility and passion. “Mastery comes from understanding your duties,” he said, urging them to find purpose in their work to achieve excellence.
