HYDERABAD: Residents of Domalapenta village in Telangana’s Nagarkurnool district are gripped by fear following multiple leopard sightings in the area. Locals are avoiding stepping out of their homes, especially after dark, due to the threat posed by the wild animal.
According to eyewitnesses, the leopard was last seen around 11 PM, moving between houses, sparking panic among villagers. It has reportedly been spotted three times since 22nd of last month, and its movements have been captured on CCTV cameras.
In a striking pattern, the animal has been seen each time in front of the house of former deputy sarpanch Prasad, adding to the villagers’ concerns. Residents say they now live in constant fear at night, fearing an attack.
Forest department officials have been urged to take immediate steps to capture the leopard. Locals have specifically requested the installation of a cage trap to safely contain the animal and restore peace in the village.
Authorities are currently assessing the situation, but villagers insist that swift action is necessary to ensure public safety and prevent any tragic incidents.
