Hyderabad: A leopard was caught on CCTV crossing a road inside the Ibrahim Bagh military zone near Golconda, triggering renewed concern over big cat movement within Hyderabad city limits.
The animal was seen moving from behind Taramati towards the Musi River, police confirmed. Golconda police immediately alerted the Forest Department, which is already tracking the animal’s movement following earlier sightings in Manchirevula and Narsingi.
Forest officials have set up four cages and multiple trap cameras near the Greyhounds area in a bid to capture the elusive leopard. Despite continued monitoring, the animal has evaded capture so far.
Authorities have advised residents in surrounding areas to remain vigilant, especially at night. Additional containment measures are being planned as the leopard remains active near populated zones.
