HYDERABAD, Jaunuary 30, 2025: A lorry caused significant damage in Vemulawada on Thursday morning, after it crashed into an electric pole on the town’s first bypass road in Mahalaxmi Street. The lorry then continued its path, hitting dividers on the Moolavagu bridge before ploughing into the Kadire Rajmallayya shop in Tippapur. Five vehicles at the shop were severely damaged in the incident. Police were informed and reached the spot to register a case and begin an investigation. Locals stated that the accident occurred due to the driver being under the influence of alcohol.
In a related incident, a constable tragically lost his life in a road accident in Nizamabad district. The constable, identified as Kalyan Nayak (29), was serving in the 7th Battalion in Dichpalli. He was returning home on Wednesday night after completing his shift when a lorry collided with him, resulting in his immediate death. The incident has cast a pall of grief over his native village, Garjanapalli in Rajanna Sircilla district. The family confirmed that his funeral will take place on Thursday. Kalyan Nayak is survived by his wife Sushma, daughter Abhiyukta, and son Abhishek.
