Hyderabad: Three people, including a child, were killed when a rice-laden lorry lost control and rammed into an auto at Pattikonda town in Kurnool district on Tuesday. The victims were seated in the auto at a local stand when the crash occurred.
Police identified the deceased as Bhumika (26), her daughter Nitika (5), and Sirisha (30), all from Mukela village in Tuggali mandal. The three were waiting to travel to another village when the accident happened.
According to eyewitnesses, the lorry, which was speeding, lost control before hitting the parked auto. The impact crushed the vehicle, killing all three passengers on the spot.
Police rushed to the scene, shifted the bodies for post-mortem, and registered a case. An investigation into the accident is underway.
