KARIMNAGAR: A tragic incident occurred in Vavilalapalli, Karimnagar, where a young couple died by suicide due to family opposition to their marriage. The deceased have been identified as Kondaparthi Arun Kumar (24) from Chityalapalli and Nampelli Alekhya (22) from Bhupalapatnam, both belonging to Choppadandi Mandal.
According to the police and family members, Arun and Alekhya had been in a relationship for some time. Since they were distant relatives, they informed Alekhya’s parents about their love. Initially, her parents visited Arun’s house and proposed the marriage. However, Arun’s parents were hesitant and stated that they were not ready for the wedding at that moment. Since then, relations between the two families became strained.
Recently, Alekhya’s parents arranged her marriage with another person, which deeply distressed the couple. On Wednesday, Alekhya left Bhupalapatnam, saying she needed to visit her college to collect certificates, but instead, she went to Karimnagar to meet Arun, who was working as a lab assistant at a private hospital.
Later, the couple went to Arun’s rented room in Vavilalapalli, where they were found hanging. The police from Three Town Police Station registered a case based on a complaint from Arun’s father and started an investigation.
