Hyderabad: A Lufthansa flight headed to Hyderabad was forced to turn back mid-air on Sunday evening after a bomb threat was reported. Flight LH 752, which departed Frankfurt for Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, reversed course while cruising over Bulgarian airspace.
The aircraft circled for nearly two hours before the pilot opted to return to Frankfurt as a precaution. Hyderabad airport authorities confirmed they were alerted to the threat and that the flight had been diverted accordingly.
This isn’t the first time Lufthansa has dealt with such a scare. On February 4 this year, Chennai International Airport received an anonymous email warning of a bomb on a Lufthansa flight preparing to take off for Frankfurt with 274 passengers on board.
Officials believe Sunday’s alert is likely another false alarm. Still, Indian aviation and security agencies remain on high alert, maintaining strict procedures for handling such threats.
