Maganti Gopinath was a rare leader in politics, says MLA Prashanth Reddy

Hyderabad: BRS MLA Vemula Prashanth Reddy on Saturday paid glowing tributes to late Jubilee Hills legislator Maganti Gopinath, describing him as a rare leader who combined loyalty, humility, and a strong public connect.

Speaking during the condolence motion in the Assembly, Prashanth Reddy said Gopinath’s death was a deeply painful moment. “We both entered the House together in 2014. He won three terms in a row and worked alongside us with great dedication. He was soft-spoken, avoided controversies, and always stayed humble,” he said.

Prashanth Reddy recalls Gopinath’s loyalty to leaders and people

Prashanth Reddy noted that he had known Gopinath for 35 years through family ties with the TDP. He explained that Gopinath remained loyal to his leaders, whether it was N.T. Rama Rao or K. Chandrashekar Rao.

“A true political leader must show loyalty to the party and build good relations with the people. Very few leaders display both qualities. Gopinath was one among those rare individuals,” he said. Moreover, he remembered how Gopinath continued to stand by NTR even after the loss of power, visiting him at Nacharam Studio when few others came forward.

He further added that Gopinath showed the same commitment in the BRS and built close ties with the people of Jubilee Hills. Winning three consecutive terms, he said, reflected Gopinath’s strength as a people’s leader.

Irreplaceable loss for Jubilee Hills

Prashanth Reddy described Gopinath as unforgettable. He stressed that his absence would leave a lasting void in the constituency. Importantly, he assured that the BRS party would continue to support both Gopinath’s family and the people of Jubilee Hills.
