Mahesh Kumar Goud accuses BRS, BJP of opposing BC reservations

Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) chief Mahesh Kumar Goud accused the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of blocking Backward Class (BC) reservations.

Mahesh Kumar Goud BC reservations stand after High Court ruling

Reacting to the Telangana High Court order on BC reservations, Goud said the Congress Party trusts the judiciary. He stated that Congress worked hard to secure 42 per cent reservations for BCs and that people had noticed its year-long effort.

Goud said the Congress government carried out a scientific caste census — a first in the country. He reminded everyone that the earlier BRS government had reduced the BC quota. “We respect the court’s verdict, and our intentions are honest,” he said.

The TPCC chief stated that the government delayed local body elections to ensure that BC reservations were implemented. He asked the BRS leaders why they remained silent when the Congress fought in Delhi for BC rights.

He also questioned why BRS and BJP leaders remained silent during the BC case, which involved senior leaders such as V. Hanumantha Rao and K. Keshava Rao. Goud said Congress would follow Rahul Gandhi’s vision and bring real empowerment to BC communities.
