Hyderabad: TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud on Saturday accused the BJP of securing victory in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections through widespread voter fraud. He urged Congress leaders in Telangana to launch a strong public campaign on the issue, echoing Rahul Gandhi’s national call.
Speaking before a joint meeting of the TPCC Political Affairs and Advisory Committees, Goud said Rahul Gandhi had shared detailed data on the alleged electoral manipulation. “We must take this issue to every district and start an open discussion with the people,” he stated.
TPCC chief highlights welfare scheme impact
Goud praised the Congress-led state government’s rollout of flagship welfare schemes. These include Rythu Bharosa, farm loan waivers, new ration cards, Indiramma housing, and subsidised fine rice. According to him, public response has been overwhelmingly positive.
He also noted the strong reception for the TPCC’s ongoing padayatra. “People are enthusiastically welcoming our leaders. It shows rising support for Congress across Telangana,” he said.
Party targets local polls, Jubilee Hills by-election
Goud expressed optimism about the upcoming local body elections. He said the Congress had a strong opportunity to win and must focus on strategy and mobilisation. Regarding the Jubilee Hills Assembly bypoll, he called it “highly prestigious” and urged party leaders to approach it with seriousness and unity.
BRS misleading farmers on urea, says Goud
Goud strongly criticised the BRS for spreading what he described as falsehoods about urea shortages. “They are inciting fear among farmers with deliberate misinformation. It’s pure political opportunism,” he said. He asked party workers to counter these narratives with facts and community outreach.
He concluded by urging the TPCC leadership to discuss all these issues thoroughly and move forward with a united action plan.
