Hyderabad: A fire broke out at a plastic factory in Balapur during the early hours of Monday, prompting a swift response from the fire department. The unit was unoccupied at the time, and no injuries were reported.
Flames erupted suddenly inside the facility, located in the city’s southern industrial zone. Firefighters reached the spot quickly and brought the blaze under control before it could spread to adjoining premises.
Officials said the cause of the fire is under investigation. Preliminary assessments are underway to determine how the incident began.
The incident comes weeks after a deadly blast at the Sigachi industrial unit, which resulted in significant loss of life. Despite official warnings and calls for improved safety measures following that disaster, yet another fire in an industrial facility has triggered concern.
Authorities said safety lapses and enforcement gaps would be reviewed as part of the ongoing probe.
