HYDERABAD: BJP candidate Malka Komuraiah emerged victorious in the Teachers’ MLC election for the Karimnagar-Nizamabad-Adilabad-Medak constituency. He defeated PRTU candidate Vanga Mahender Reddy in the contest.
A total of 25,041 votes were cast in the election, out of which 897 votes were declared invalid. Among the 24,144 valid votes, Komuraiah secured 12,959 votes, ensuring his win. PRTU candidate Mahender Reddy finished in second place with 7,182 votes, while another candidate, Ashok Kumar, received 2,621 votes.
In a separate contest for the Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda Teachers’ MLC seat, PRTU-TS candidate Pingili Sripal Reddy won the election. The Congress-backed candidate, Gaalreddy Harshavardhan Reddy, who is considered close to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, finished in third place. Alugubelli Narsireddy secured the second position.
Meanwhile, the election results came as a major setback for MLC Kodandaram, as his supported candidate, Pannala Gopal Reddy, managed to secure only 24 votes.
