Hyderabad: Congress MP Mallu Ravi alleged that Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar resigned due to political pressure from the BJP, calling the official claim of health reasons a pretext. Speaking to the media in Delhi on Tuesday, he questioned the timing and motive behind the sudden resignation, which he said had turned into a flashpoint in national politics.
Dhankhar presided over the Rajya Sabha on the opening day of the session, only to step down by evening a move Mallu Ravi claimed was orchestrated by the BJP with upcoming Bihar Assembly elections in mind.
Ravi suggested that the ruling party intends to install a replacement favourable to its poll strategy. “There’s growing suspicion that this is part of a larger plan to influence Bihar politics,” he said, linking the resignation to what he described as covert political manoeuvring.
He also pointed to the absence of senior BJP leaders Kiren Rijiju and JP Nadda from the second meeting of the Business Advisory Committee as indicative of deeper political scheming.
Calling for transparency, Ravi demanded that the Centre reveal the full details of what he termed “Operation Sindhoor.” He questioned whether the government has no obligation to explain the truth when it claims to have full political support.
