HYDERABAD: In a strong rebuttal to the ongoing allegations surrounding 400 acres of land in Gachibowli, Telangana Congress senior leader and Nagarkurnool MP Mallu Ravi on Saturday claimed that the land rightfully belongs to the state government, and accused the BRS and BJP of running a false narrative to malign the Congress-led administration.
Addressing the media, Mallu Ravi alleged that former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) was responsible for the case pending in court for over a decade, as the previous BRS government failed to pursue the matter legally. He credited the Congress government’s efforts for successfully reclaiming the 400 acres for public use.
He slammed the BRS social media wing, accusing it of spreading deliberate misinformation, including false claims about harm to wildlife, to damage the government’s image. He stated that such propaganda was the reason the central empowered committee visited Hyderabad, which ultimately confirmed that the land belongs to the state government.
Mallu Ravi revealed that a fact-based report had already been submitted to the Congress high command and to Union Minister Bhupender Yadav, countering the misleading campaign.
He further clarified that no real estate company has been allotted the land so far. The government’s sole intention, he said, is to develop IT companies on the site, creating thousands of jobs for the unemployed. The project is part of the broader Future City plan, which aims to ease the burden on Hyderabad’s core.
Speaking on infrastructure development, he said the Congress government has pursued the Regional Ring Road (RRR) project aggressively, meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi 12 times. He announced that the foundation stone for RRR would be laid soon, with new townships to be developed between the ORR and RRR.
Mallu Ravi accused BRS of conspiring against the Revanth Reddy-led government out of jealousy over its rapid development work. He criticised KCR for failing to fulfil promises during his ten-year rule, while affirming that the Congress was systematically implementing all six of its poll guarantees.
