Hyderabad: A 45-year-old man collapsed and died while dancing during a Ganesh immersion procession in Narayanapet district headquarters on Saturday afternoon.
The procession was part of the immersion festivities, where both youth and elders participated in dancing to DJ music. Amid the celebrations, a man identified as Shekhar suddenly collapsed while dancing.
Sub-Inspector Venkateswarlu, who was on duty at the time, immediately responded to the situation. He performed CPR on the victim at the spot and arranged to have him shifted to the hospital. However, doctors declared Shekhar dead upon arrival.
Police intervention noted, family in mourning
Officials said that the timely intervention by the SI was commendable, though the individual could not be revived. The incident cast a shadow over the otherwise festive atmosphere in the district. Shekhar’s family was seen mourning at the hospital after receiving the news of his sudden death.
