Hyderabad: A man was electrocuted while using a water heater at his home in Karunagiri TN GOs Colony of Karimnagar Rural mandal on Monday morning. The victim, identified as Devarakonda Anil Kumar (41), ran a water plant to support his family.
According to Rural CI M. Raj, Anil plugged in the water heater to take a bath when it suddenly short-circuited. He collapsed instantly after receiving an electric shock and died on the spot.
His wife Shailaja, who found him unconscious near the bathroom, alerted their children. Their son Sharath Kumar rushed in, turned off the power supply, and removed the heater from his father’s hand.
The family, with help from relatives, shifted the body to the district government hospital for postmortem. Based on Shailaja’s complaint, Rural Police conducted a spot inspection and registered a case.
An investigation is underway.
