Hyderabad: A 60-year-old man was found dead in his car in Utpalli village under Shamshabad Municipality limits on Sunday morning, triggering alarm among residents. The deceased, identified as Ganapathi, was reportedly a habitual drinker and had consumed a full bottle of alcohol before his death, according to local accounts.
Ganapathi, originally from Bengaluru, had been living in Utpalli village for the past five years in a modest home he built himself. On Saturday night, villagers spotted him driving around the area in an inebriated state—a sadly familiar sight, according to some locals.
However, the next morning, Ganapathi was found dead in his car. On receiving the information by the locals, police reached the spot and shifted his body to Osmania Hospital for a post-mortem examination. While the investigation is still in its early stages, officers suspect that alcohol overdose may have played a significant role in his death.
