Hyderabad: A 25-year-old man from Modiguda in Khammam district died by suicide in Kothagudem after receiving a traffic police warning over a drink-and-drive violation.
Gopi, who had married a woman from Khammam last year, was living in Kothagudem while working with a private firm. His wife is currently enrolled in a nursing course in the same town.
Days earlier, Gopi was caught riding under the influence. He was served a traffic police warning stating he must appear in court and could face jail if the fine was unpaid.
Following the traffic police warning, Gopi reportedly fell into depression and was found dead by hanging.
His wife has filed a complaint blaming his death on threats and pressure from the traffic police.
