Hyderabad: A man killed his own mother in Kamareddy district to claim insurance money, police revealed after an investigation exposed the crime.
The incident occurred in Tandur village of Nagireddypet mandal. The accused, identified as Chakali Raju, murdered his mother Jamuna and presented it as an accidental death to mislead locals. According to officials, Raju had pre-planned the killing and purchased six insurance policies in his mother’s name.
Police said that after Jamuna’s death, he successfully claimed nearly ₹80 lakh from two insurance companies. The truth emerged when Raju, already facing charges in another case, was interrogated. During questioning, investigators uncovered his role in his mother’s murder.
