Hyderabad: A man brutally murdered his pregnant wife in Balaji Hills, Medipally, before dismembering her body and dumping parts in the Musi river.
The accused, Mahender, originally from Komreddyguda in Vikarabad district, had married Swathi in a love marriage. The couple had been living in Boduppal for some time.
On Saturday afternoon, Mahender allegedly killed 22-year-old Swathi and severed her head, arms, and legs. He disposed of the limbs in the Musi river and packed the torso in a cover, which he left in the house after failing to move it elsewhere.
Mahender later phoned his sister, claiming Swathi had died by suicide. His sister alerted Swathi’s parents, who grew suspicious and informed the police.
Medipally police reached the spot and took Mahender into custody. They are investigating the motive behind the murder.
