Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) has announced a 24-hour water supply shutdown from 6:00 a.m. on September 24. The disruption will affect multiple areas as the board repairs the Manjeera Phase-2 pumping main.
The 1500 mm dia PSC main from Kalabgoor to Hydernagar developed heavy leakages at several points. To stop them, the board scheduled urgent repair works from September 24 morning to September 25 morning.
Manjeera Phase-2 repair to disrupt supply
Water will not reach RC Puram, Ashok Nagar, Jyothinagar, Lingampally, Chandanagar, Gangaram, Madinaguda, and Miyapur under O&M Division 17. Biranguda and Ameenpur under O&M Division-22 will also lose supply. Transmission Division-2’s offtake points and bulk connections will remain closed.
Erragadda, SR Nagar, and Ameerpet under O&M Division-6 will face cuts. KPHB, Kukatpally, Bhagyanagar Colony, and Pragathi Nagar under O&M Division-9 will also go dry for the repair period.
The board advised residents in all affected areas to store water and use it carefully until the supply resumes.
