HYDERABAD: A massive fire broke out near the Amberpet Flyover on Tuesday morning, triggering panic among locals and commuters. The incident occurred at the Chaderghat Number Chowrasta, where sheds set up for flyover construction suddenly caught fire. Flames spread rapidly, and thick black smoke engulfed the area, leading to major traffic congestion.
Upon receiving the information, police and fire department personnel rushed to the scene and initiated firefighting operations. Efforts were underway to control the blaze and prevent further escalation.
The Amberpet Flyover, which opened for public use on February 26, had been under construction for nearly seven years along the Warangal National Highway. Due to prolonged delays, both commuters and residents had faced severe difficulties. However, traffic movement on the flyover began during the Maha Shivaratri festival, marking the end of a long wait.
Meanwhile, another fire incident occurred shortly after this near the PVNR Expressway. A car traveling from Mehdipatnam towards Aramghar suddenly caught fire near pillar number 211. The driver, noticing the flames, quickly stopped and exited the vehicle, escaping unharmed.
Authorities are investigating both fire incidents to determine their causes. Further updates are awaited.
