Hyderabad: A 19-year-old medical student was found dead in his hostel room at Adilabad RIMS on Wednesday morning, in what police suspect to be a case of suicide.
Sahil Chaudhary, a second-year MBBS student from Rajasthan, was discovered hanging from a ceiling fan by fellow students at the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS). Hostel authorities alerted the police, who registered a case and are investigating.
The cause behind the suspected suicide remains unknown. Police said they are examining the student’s phone and questioning classmates to determine possible triggers.
The incident has left students and faculty in shock. No suicide note was found at the scene.
