Hyderabad: Ahead of Ganesh Navaratri, which begins on August 27, Medchal DCP N. Koti Reddy, IPS, visited Katta Maisamma Lake and the baby pond in Suraram on Tuesday to review the immersion arrangements. His inspection focused on finalising safety, traffic, and logistical measures across the Medchal zone.
He stated that police teams were fully prepared to ensure smooth and peaceful celebrations. Emphasising coordination, he urged all departments to work together to prevent any disruption during the festival.

During the visit, the DCP confirmed that three cranes had already been stationed at the immersion points. A fourth crane would be added if required. He instructed staff to focus on the safety of women, children, and older people throughout the immersion process.
He also listed the key services in place, which include floodlighting, sanitation, barricades, road repairs, medical assistance, drinking water, and traffic management. GHMC and other line departments were asked to ensure that all equipment is ready and functional at designated locations.
To boost public safety, police teams will maintain visible presence at immersion sites. CCTV surveillance, Dial 100 response teams, and continuous coordination between departments will remain active until the completion of the event.
