Hyderabad: Telangana Health Minister Damodar Raja Narasimha has cleared the proposal for a medical postgraduate centre with 50 seats to be set up in Husnabad.
Accompanied by Ministers Tummala Nageswara Rao, Komatireddy Venkata Reddy, and Ponnam Prabhakar, the minister laid the foundation stone for a new 150-bed hospital and inaugurated a 100-bed maternal and child care facility during his visit to the constituency.
Officials said construction work on the second phase of the four-lane road project would also begin. The sanctioned amounts include Rs 77 crore for the Husnabad–Sundaragiri stretch and Rs 80 crore from Sundaragiri to Kothapalli.
Speaking to reporters, Raja Narasimha pointed out that after the Congress came to power in Telangana, eight medical colleges and sixteen nursing colleges had been established. He stressed the importance of setting up a nursing college in every constituency and said more such colleges were planned.
