Hyderabad, January 28: Fisheries Corporation Chairman Mettu Sai Kumar has criticised Union Minister Bandi Sanjay for his recent comments regarding the Padma Awards. Speaking at Gandhi Bhavan on Tuesday, Sai Kumar questioned whether the Padma Awards are conferred by the central government or the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He emphasised that these honours are awarded for services in fields such as arts, literature, and medicine, and are not distributed by the BJP president.
Sai Kumar demanded an apology from Bandi Sanjay for allegedly disrespecting the families of Telangana martyrs and public organisations. He highlighted that Gaddar’s songs played a significant role in inspiring the Telangana community during the second phase of the movement. Expressing dismay, Sai Kumar remarked that they feel ashamed of Bandi Sanjay’s statements, suggesting that he speaks without understanding the context.
