Hyderabad: Telangana State Minerals Development Corporation chairman Eravarthi Anil launched a scathing attack on BJP leaders on Sunday, alleging their family had pushed the state towards financial collapse. Speaking at Gandhi Bhavan, Anil said those behaving like them would be stoned to death in Arab nations, adding there was nothing wrong with awarding them the harshest punishment.
He questioned what comparison existed between BJP state president Ramchander Rao and Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. Taking a jibe, Anil said the BJP leaders could not even maintain order in their own households, and asked why they had failed to fill government jobs for a decade. He accused them of blackmailing Andhra contractors and extorting money while now pretending to speak for public welfare.
He reminded them it was their government that told people to carry their own water, calling their attitude nothing less than thievery. “If you speak like madmen, you will be skinned,” Anil warned, branding them grand-scale fraudsters who had thoroughly cheated the people.
He demanded answers on what happened to the unemployment benefits promised to the youth, stating the BJP had no need for Revanth Reddy since he himself was ready to counter their claims in an open debate at the Press Club.
Anil ridiculed them for blaming others while unemployed youngsters were hanging themselves over the fear of missing out on government recruitment. He challenged Ramchander Rao to resign, saying both could then push for BC appointments if they truly cared about social justice.
Referring to the BJP leadership, Anil pointed out that the previous president, Kishan Reddy, the current president Ramchander Rao, and the Assembly floor leader, Maheshwar Reddy, all belonged to the OC category. He said only a constitutional amendment could guarantee BC reservations, while even if the state issued a government order, courts would strike it down.

He demanded a Tamil Nadu–style reservation model to protect BC opportunities, asking whether the BJP would stand for BC rights or deny them.
Calling on BJP leaders to set their house in order, Anil urged Ramchander Rao to apologise to BCs and organise a rail roko protest to press their demands. He also hit out at BRS MP Kavitha, accusing her of reducing the BC reservation from 34% to 23% during her term, questioning her sincerity on the issue.
Anil said that during the GHMC elections, there was no legal hurdle to implement a 42% BC quota under Article 243 based on population data, yet the BJP had failed to do so.
