Hyderabad, January 28: Health Minister Damodar Rajanarsimha conducted a review meeting to assess the designs of the new buildings planned for Osmania Hospital. Senior officials from the Health and Roads & Buildings (R&B) Departments participated in this session. The foundation stone for these new structures is scheduled to be laid on January 31, with Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Minister Rajanarsimha presiding over the ceremony. In preparation, the minister engaged in discussions with officials to finalise the building designs.
During a review on January 25, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy suggested several modifications to the initial designs. Following his recommendations, officials implemented the proposed changes and presented the revised designs to Minister Rajanarsimha through a PowerPoint presentation. The minister provided further suggestions during this briefing.
Upon assuming office, the Congress government decided to construct new buildings for the century-old Osmania Hospital and allocated land for this purpose. The plan includes developing the new facilities at the police stadium in Goshamahal. Meetings with officials have been conducted to expedite the construction process.
As part of these efforts, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy recently held a review with officials, during which the dates for the foundation stone laying were confirmed. He emphasized that there should be no compromises in the construction quality and instructed officials to incorporate advanced facilities to meet future needs. Additionally, he directed that regulations be strictly followed in providing hostel accommodations for teaching staff and students within the hospital premises. In the meeting, R&B officials presented models related to the hospital buildings, and the Chief Minister suggested several design changes, instructing the creation of new designs accordingly.
The government aims to ensure that the new facilities are equipped to serve the community effectively in the coming years. The upcoming foundation stone laying ceremony marks a significant step in this redevelopment project.
