HYDERABAD: During the Telangana Assembly sessions on Wednesday, discussions centered on the Dharani and Bhubharati land management systems led to a heated debate between ruling and opposition members. Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy criticized the previous BRS government’s Dharani portal, stating that the recent elections have made its shortcomings evident. He announced that the Congress government plans to approach the upcoming elections with the Bhubharati concept, aiming to address the issues associated with Dharani.
Minister Reddy accused BRS MLA Palla Rajeshwar Reddy of attempting to cover up the irregularities and injustices linked to Dharani. He asserted that the BRS government’s mistakes led to their electoral defeat and subsequent position in the opposition. Furthermore, he criticized the previous administration’s treatment of Village Revenue Assistants (VRAs) and Village Revenue Officers (VROs), labeling the BRS party’s current concern for their welfare as hypocritical. Minister Reddy revealed plans to reinstate the VRA system in response to public demand and assured that the Congress government would accord special respect to VRAs and VROs.
