HYDERABAD: BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar recently commented on the selection of candidates for the Member of Legislative Council (MLC) under the MLA quota, describing it as a positive development for Backward Classes (BCs). He expressed his gratitude towards Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka for their initiative in this matter.
Prabhakar called for unity among BCs to achieve 42% reservations in the future and emphasized the need for advancement in social, economic, and political spheres. He stated that the selection of MLC candidates under the MLA quota demonstrates the Congress government’s commitment to the upliftment of weaker sections.
On Sunday, the Telangana Congress announced its MLC candidates, finalising the names of Addanki Dayakar, Vijaya Shanthi, and Shankar Nayak.
