Hyderabad: Minister Danasari Anasuya Seethakka will distribute welfare fund cheques to journalists and their families in Hyderabad today, September 29, 2025. The Telangana Media Academy is organising the programme to benefit 18 families of deceased journalists and seven who suffered illness or accidents.
Academy Secretary Nagulapalli Venkateshwara Rao said the event reflects the government’s commitment to journalist welfare. He added that the scheme runs under the theme “Journalist Welfare – Priority of People’s Government.” The cheques are being issued from interest earned on the Journalist Welfare Fund.

The programme will start at 10:30 a.m. at the Telangana Media Academy auditorium in Nampally. Academy Chairman K. Srinivas Reddy will preside. Special Commissioner of the Information Department, C.H. Priyanka, will attend as the guest of honour. Journalist leaders and other invitees will also participate.
