Hyderabad, February 11: Irrigation and Civil Supplies Minister Capt N. Uttam Kumar Reddy urged party leaders and cadres to work hard and strategically to ensure the Congress party’s victory in the Medak-Nizamabad-Adilabad-Karimnagar Graduates’ constituency elections. He emphasised that these elections are highly prestigious for the party and will serve as a stepping stone for upcoming local body polls.

Addressing a video conference with public representatives from the erstwhile Karimnagar district on Tuesday, Uttam Kumar Reddy provided a clear roadmap for the elections. Ministers Duddilla Sridhar Babu and Ponnam Prabhakar, MLC T. Jeevan Reddy, Government Whip Aadi Srinivas, MLAs K Satyanarayana, Raj Thakur, Dr. Sanjay, Velichala Rajender Rao, Medipalli Satyam, Vadithala Pranav, SUDA Chairman Komatireddy Narendra Reddy, and Government Advisor Harkal Venugopal Rao were present at the meeting.

Uttam Kumar Reddy, the district in-charge minister, had earlier participated in the nomination filing of Congress candidate Narendra Reddy. He later discussed the matter with party leaders, stressing the need for grassroots mobilisation and calling for an aggressive campaign.

“These elections will serve as a rehearsal for the upcoming local body polls. If we capitalise on the momentum from this election, Congress can secure a landslide victory in MPTC and ZPTC elections,” he said.

He called on the party cadre and leadership to be proactive and ensure every vote was secured. “If our grassroots machinery is actively engaged, victory will be smooth and assured,” he asserted.

The minister also urged enthusiastic and committed candidates to step forward for local body elections, stating that Congress needs strong representation at all levels to maintain its political dominance.

Further, Uttam Kumar Reddy directed party members to communicate the Congress government’s achievements to the people effectively. He highlighted that after a decade-long gap, the Congress government successfully recruited over 11,000 teachers and filled over 55,000 government vacancies in one year, benefiting students and the youth.

“The government’s efforts in employment generation, welfare schemes, and governance reforms should be widely publicised to strengthen the party’s outreach,” he added.

On resolving public grievances, he assured swift action and urged party representatives to bring unresolved issues to his attention for immediate redressal. “As the in-charge minister, I am always accessible and will ensure that local problems are addressed without delay,” he said. (eom)
