Over 10,000 machines distributed in first phase
The Minorities Finance Corporation handed out 10,490 sewing machines to eligible minority women in the first phase. Meanwhile, the government approved another 33,750 machines for the second phase. In Hyderabad district, officials distributed 3,500 units to applicants.
Minister Ponnam Prabhakar said the government aimed to empower women with self-employment. “We are providing sewing machines through the Minority Welfare Department. Women must grow financially and live with confidence,” he said.
Jubilee Hills scheme expands across all constituencies
Prabhakar said the initiative covered all 119 constituencies, not just Jubilee Hills. Moreover, he criticised the previous government for ignoring the constituency and failing to issue ration cards for a decade.
He added that the current government introduced new ration cards, provided 200 units of free electricity, offered subsidised gas at ₹500, and distributed six kilograms of fine rice per person. Furthermore, women travel free in RTC buses under welfare schemes.
Govt targets one crore women as wealth creators
Prabhakar said the government planned to transform one crore women into wealth creators. Therefore, he urged women to join self-help groups to access zero-interest loans. He also said the government supported women in business ventures such as solar plants, buses, and petrol bunks.
