Hyderabad: Telangana ministers Ponnam Prabhakar and Tummala Nageswara Rao, along with Hyderabad Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi, unveiled ₹5.55 crore worth of civic infrastructure projects in Yusufguda division, located in Circle 19 of the Jubilee Hills constituency.
They began with the foundation-laying ceremony for seven cement concrete (CC) road works in Navodaya Colony, Maruthi Nagar, Kamalapuri Colony, and Engineers Colony. These works are budgeted at ₹178.35 lakh. The ministers directed officials to fast-track the construction and avoid delays.
Later, the team visited Labour Adda Road to inaugurate 14 additional CC road works. These projects, covering areas such as LN Nagar, Yusufguda Basti, Sri Krishna Nagar, and Hylam Colony, amount to ₹377.35 lakh. During the inspection, they engaged with GHMC sanitation workers and listened to their concerns, promising resolution under the present government.
Major civic works in Yusufguda launched under ₹5.55 crore plan
Speaking at the event, Minister Ponnam Prabhakar highlighted the government’s focus on delivering core amenities to low-income urban areas. He pointed out that Hyderabad had received 55,000 new ration cards in recent months, breaking a 10-year freeze under the previous regime.
He also emphasized that each eligible person receives 6 kg of subsidised rice and 200 units of free household electricity. Drainage work in Krishna Nagar, long delayed, has now resumed to address frequent waterlogging. Prabhakar urged residents of Jubilee Hills to report issues directly, assuring swift attention.
Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao said that development works worth over ₹90 crore had already been launched in Jubilee Hills. He underlined the need for durability in all infrastructure, particularly in roads and drainage systems. He also noted that CM Revanth Reddy was actively lobbying the Centre for major projects, including the Regional Ring Road and a high-speed rail line linking Hyderabad with Amaravati.
Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi described the day’s launches worth over ₹3 crore as unprecedented for Yusufguda. She said the past month had seen more civic work in the constituency than the previous decade combined. A further ₹50 crore in new infrastructure projects is now underway, aimed at transforming Jubilee Hills into a model constituency.
She credited the government’s rapid rollout of welfare schemes, such as ration card distribution, subsidised food supplies, and free electricity, as a key pillar of its inclusive development agenda.
