Hyderabad: Ministers Jupally Krishna Rao and Adluri Laxman on Tuesday led tributes to tribal icon Kumram Bheem on his 85th death anniversary at Jodeghat in Telangana’s Asifabad district.
They laid wreaths, performed pujas, and walked around the Kumram Bheem memorial in Kerameri mandal. MLA Vedma Bojju, MLC Dande Vitthal, Bheem’s grandson Sonerao, and several tribal organisation leaders joined the ceremony.
Kumram Bheem hailed as symbol of resistance
Minister Jupally said Telangana’s development is rooted in the spirit of tribal struggles. He described Kumram Bheem’s fight for “jal, jungle, zameen” (water, forest, land) as a symbol of justice and dignity.
He added that Bheem’s sacrifice continues to inspire movements against injustice and oppression, especially among marginalised tribal communities.
