Hyderabad: A high-level Congress delegation led by Labour and Employment Minister Dr. G. Vivek Venkataswamy intensified the party’s election campaign in Jubilee Hills. Telangana in-charge Meenakshi Natrajan and several cabinet colleagues joined him in rallying support for Congress candidate V. Naveen Yadav ahead of the upcoming bypoll.
On Tuesday, Dr. Venkataswamy held a series of meetings with booth-level committees across the constituency. These included stops in Yousufguda, Borabanda, Vengalrao Nagar and other key areas. The meetings focused on strengthening grassroots coordination and energising the party’s field-level workers.
During these gatherings, the minister expressed full confidence in the party’s prospects. He said that if the cadre performed their duties with commitment, sincerity, and discipline, Congress would achieve a comfortable majority. He credited Naveen Yadav’s popularity and strong connect with the electorate for the positive outlook.
Several other senior leaders also participated in the campaign. Ministers Ponnam Prabhakar, Tummala Nageshwar Rao, and Seethakka were present at multiple venues. MP Anil Kumar Yadav and former cricketer and Congress leader Mohammed Azharuddin also addressed workers and urged them to step up voter outreach.
Congress cadre Jubilee Hills effort gains high-level backing
Dr. Venkataswamy told party workers that their role extended beyond canvassing votes. He called them the “eyes and ears” of the Congress and encouraged them to consistently report local issues to the leadership. This, he said, would allow the party to respond more effectively and strengthen its connection with the public.
He also highlighted the Congress government’s flagship schemes, calling them inclusive and people-centric. According to him, initiatives like Free RTC Bus Travel for women, ₹500 LPG cylinders, and 200 units of free electricity were reaching beneficiaries from every community, without bias.
He contrasted this with what he described as the failures of the previous BRS government. He accused the former administration of misusing public funds and neglecting welfare. As a result, he said, Telangana now faced serious financial distress. However, despite limited resources, he said the Congress government remained focused on governance and public interest.
Each of the participating ministers echoed these points in their own remarks. They praised the strong presence of the cadre in Jubilee Hills and called for continued unity and discipline during the final weeks of the campaign.
Addressing the cadre, Naveen Yadav said it was a matter of pride that senior ministers were supporting his campaign directly. He thanked them for their involvement and said their presence on the ground had boosted morale. He promised to continue serving the people with dedication and commitment if elected.
