Hyderabad, January 8: A 17-year-old boy from Doulapur village, Yalal Mandal, tragically ended his life by hanging himself from a tree after being reprimanded by his parents for consuming alcohol. The incident occurred under the jurisdiction of the Yalal Police Station.
According to villagers and police reports, the minor had developed a habit of drinking over the past few weeks. Concerned about his behavior, his parents had warned him to stop consuming alcohol. Unable to cope with the reprimand, the boy went to a nearby agricultural field and hanged himself from a tree.
The deceased’s father, Venkataiah, filed a complaint with the police, stating that his son committed suicide under the influence of alcohol. He clarified that there were no suspicions regarding anyone’s involvement in the death.
Sub-Inspector Giri confirmed that a case has been registered and investigations have begun. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the need for early intervention in addressing youth substance abuse and its potential consequences.
