A 60-year-old man was booked under the POCSO Act for allegedly assaulting a 14-year-old girl in Narayanguda. Police are investigating the case.
HYDERABAD: A shocking incident of sexual assault on a minor girl came to light in the Narayanguda police station limits on Wednesday.
A 60-year-old man, residing in an apartment near Kachiguda Crossroads, allegedly lured a 14-year-old girl, a Class 9 student living nearby, into his apartment and assaulted her. The girl’s family noticed her distress and inquired about the matter, after which she revealed the incident. Following this, her family lodged a complaint at the Narayanguda police station.
Based on the complaint, police registered a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act against the accused. The girl was sent to the Bharosa Centre, where her statement was recorded.
Further legal action is underway.
