Minor kills father in Nirmal district, pet dog helps police trace body

Hyderabad: A minor kills father in Nirmal district and buried the body in the family’s farmland. The shocking incident occurred in Tanur mandal, and police later solved the case with help from a pet dog.

Addressing the media at the SP Camp Office in Bhainsa on Wednesday, District SP Janaki Sharmila explained the sequence of events. She said Vannevad Laxman, a resident of Elvi village, went missing on August 31. Consequently, his family filed a complaint at the Tanur Police Station.

Pet dog helps police solve Nirmal murder case

During the investigation, Additional SP Avinash Kumar, CI Mallesha, and SIs Jubair, Persis, and Ashok worked closely under the SP’s direction. Eventually, they confirmed that the victim’s minor son was responsible for the murder.

Interestingly, the family’s pet dog led police to the exact spot where the body was buried. As a result, officers located human remains buried inside the farmland.

According to the police, the boy lost his temper after his father repeatedly scolded him for poor studies and laziness. In anger, he struck his father with an axe, killing him instantly.

After committing the murder, the boy dug a pit, packed the body in gunny bags, and buried it with a shovel. Later, police recovered the body and completed all required procedures.

SP Janaki Sharmila appreciated the officers for their swift coordination and sharp investigation skills. Moreover, she said their quick response helped solve the case within days.
