Hyderabad: The global spotlight is set to shine on Hyderabad as it plays host to the prestigious Miss World 2025 pageant, with participants from 116 countries arriving to experience Telangana’s rich cultural and historical tapestry. The event will officially open on 10 May at 5 PM at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium.
In a unique blend of glamour and tradition, the Miss World schedule has been carefully curated to immerse the international contestants in Telangana’s diverse heritage. Delegates from continents including North America, Africa, Europe, Asia, and the Caribbean will partake in a range of activities showcasing the state’s monuments, crafts, cuisine, and hospitality.
Cultural immersion across Telangana
The itinerary begins on 12 May, with 28 contestants from Asia visiting the Buddhist-themed park at Nagarjuna Sagar’s Buddhavanam. On 13 May, contestants will tour Hyderabad’s historic Charminar and the famed Laad Bazaar before attending a royal reception at the Chowmahalla Palace in the evening.
The following day, 22 contestants from the US will visit the Thousand Pillar Temple and Warangal Fort, while 35 from Europe will explore the Ramappa Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
On 15 May, ten Caribbean delegates will head to the Yadadri temple complex, while 25 African participants will attend a handloom textile expo in Pochampally, famous for its traditional weaving.
On 16 May, the focus will shift to medical tourism in Hyderabad. Delegates from the US will also visit Pillalamarri, a 700-year-old banyan tree in Mahbubnagar.
Grand finale and public events
The pageant finals are scheduled for 17 May at the Gachibowli Stadium, followed by a visit to Ramoji Film City. On 18 May, contestants will tour the Integrated Command and Control Centre and enjoy a public carnival at Tank Bund, Telangana Talli statue, Necklace Road, and the Secretariat.
Fast-track selections by continent will take place on 20 May. Coinciding with the IPL semi-finals, 20 contestants from cricket-playing nations are expected to visit Uppal Cricket Stadium on 20 or 21 May.
Other highlights include a DWCRA market visit at Shilparamam on 21 May, talent showcases on 22 May at Shilpakala Vedika, and a jewellery and fashion show at HICC on 24 May, followed by a formal dinner.
The crowning moment
The much-anticipated red carpet gala will begin at 5:30 PM on 31 May, leading up to the final contest and crowning ceremony from 10 PM to 1 AM. The newly crowned Miss World and the continental winners will join Telangana Formation Day celebrations on 2 June at the Raj Bhavan, in the presence of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Governor Jishnu Dev Varma.
