Hyderabad: Miss World contestants gathered at Hyderabad’s Charminar on Tuesday for a heritage walk, turning the historic monument into a colourful backdrop of culture and photo ops.
Welcomed with traditional Arab and Marfa music, the participants were greeted by local artists before making their way around the Charminar area. Most of them spent time taking photos and selfies in front of the monument, pausing frequently to ask questions about its history.
A group photo was taken at the monument’s base, followed by a walk through the nearby Choodi Bazaar. Nine selected shops in the market hosted the guests as they browsed through bangles, pearl sets, and other accessories.
Later in the day, the contestants were scheduled to attend a special lunch at the Chowmahalla Palace. A mehendi session was also arranged for them at the venue. Exhibits at the palace include war weapons, household items used during the Nizam era, personal belongings of the royal family, and a gallery of photographs reflecting Old City traditions.
In anticipation of the event, police deployed additional security in the area. As a precaution, small retail shops around Charminar were temporarily closed.
