Hyderabad: Hyderabad is set to take centre stage as the host of the prestigious Miss World pageant, which begins on May 6. Contestants from around the globe have begun arriving in the city, marking the start of an international celebration of beauty and culture. The Telangana government is pulling out all stops to ensure the event is not only a grand spectacle but also a powerful platform to showcase the state’s rich cultural heritage to the world.
Among the early arrivals is Miss Canada, Emma Deena Katherine Morrison, who landed at Shamshabad airport to a vibrant welcome steeped in Telangana traditions. Officials and cultural ambassadors greeted her with ceremonial honours, reflecting the state’s commitment to hospitality and cultural pride.
Several other participants are already staying in Baghyanagar, with more expected to arrive by May 8. The events leading up to the grand finale, scheduled for May 31, will include a series of cultural exchanges, appearances, and competitions. The final showdown, where the next Miss World will be crowned, is set to take place at Gachibowli Stadium.
The Telangana Tourism Department is actively coordinating preparations, aiming to leverage the global attention on the pageant to promote the state as a premier cultural and tourist destination.
