Hyderabad: Miyapur police arrested two habitual offenders for stealing electrical wire bundles from under-construction buildings in Hyderabad. The accused, Kancharla Dilip Kumar (35) from Jeedimetla and Nishal Karelkar (28) from Hafeezpet, both worked as cab drivers.
The arrests followed a theft reported on October 18 at Nagarjuna Enclave in Miyapur, where 25 wire bundles were stolen. Acting promptly on the complaint, police tracked down the duo. As a result, they recovered 81 Finolex wire bundles, a Maruti Swift car, and a Bajaj Pulsar bike used in the thefts.
Duo used same method in multiple thefts since 2021
According to police, the accused had been stealing wires since 2021. They consistently targeted under-construction buildings. Using iron rods, they broke locks and stole wires, which they later sold to scrap dealers in Madinaguda and Secunderabad. Police linked them to several thefts within Miyapur and Gachibowli limits.
