HYDERABAD: BRS MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha has accused the Congress-led Telangana government of attempting to suppress supporters of former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao by filing baseless cases against them.
During her visit to Khammam jail on Saturday, Kavitha met BRS activist Lankineni Surender, who was recently arrested for allegedly questioning the government’s failures during a village meeting. She strongly condemned the arrest, alleging that the Congress administration was misusing the SC/ST Atrocities Act to target political opponents.
Kavitha asserted that despite such actions, the Congress government would not be able to silence KCR’s supporters. She vowed to continue highlighting governmental shortcomings and accused the ruling party of failing to deliver on its promises.
According to her, multiple sections of society, including farmers, students, and women, have expressed dissatisfaction with the Congress-led government’s performance over the past 14 months. Kavitha demanded the implementation of all pre-election commitments made by the Congress party and criticised the administration for allegedly using arrests as a means to suppress dissent.
