HYDERABAD: MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha has criticized Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and the Congress government, accusing them of accruing ₹1.52 lakh crore debt without initiating significant projects or welfare schemes in Telangana. In a tweet on Tuesday, Kavitha expressed concern over the state’s financial management under the current administration.
Financial Accusations Against the Congress Government
Kavitha alleged that during the 15-month tenure of the Congress government, led by CM Revanth Reddy, the state incurred debts totaling ₹1.52 lakh crore. She criticized the administration for not constructing any major projects or launching beneficial schemes, particularly highlighting the lack of financial support for women. Kavitha stated that not even a single woman received the promised ₹2,500 monthly assistance. She also accused the Chief Minister of tarnishing Telangana’s reputation by discussing the state’s financial distress while in Delhi.
Demand for Financial Transparency
Addressing the media on Monday, Kavitha questioned the utilization of the substantial loans taken by the current government, noting the absence of any notable achievements. She pointed out that welfare schemes like Rythu Bandhu and Rythu Bima are not being fully implemented, and the bonus for paddy has become ineffective. Kavitha demanded that the state government release a white paper on debts and expenditures. She asserted that during KCR’s administration, every penny of the incurred debt was accounted for, challenging CM Revanth Reddy to provide a similar explanation for the ₹1.52 lakh crore debt.
